Crno Jezero, or Black Lake, is the stunning centerpiece of Durmitor National Park and its most visited attraction. This breathtaking glacial lake, the largest of Durmitor's 18 "mountain eyes," is nestled at the foot of the imposing Međed peak, surrounded by dense, ancient coniferous forests. The lake is actually composed of two smaller lakes, the Big Lake and the Small Lake, which are connected by a narrow strait that often dries up during the summer, separating them completely. Its crystal-clear, dark waters perfectly reflect the dramatic scenery, creating picture-perfect moments at every turn. A well-maintained 3.5-kilometer trail encircles both lakes, making for an easy and incredibly scenic walk suitable for all ages. It's the most popular activity in the park, offering ever-changing views of the water and the towering peaks above. During the summer, the lake becomes a refreshing spot for a chilly swim or for renting a rowboat to peacefully explore its shores. As the main entry point and starting point for many of the park's more demanding hiking trails, the Black Lake is the true heart of Durmitor, a place of immense natural beauty and tranquility that captivates every visitor.
- The 3.5km walking path around the lake is a must-do. It is mostly flat and provides stunning photo opportunities.
 - In summer, you can rent a rowboat for a small fee to experience the lake and its scenery from the water.
