A striking feat of modern architecture, the Millennium Bridge (Most Milenijum) is the defining landmark of contemporary Podgorica. Inaugurated on July 13, 2005, Montenegro's National Day, this cable-stayed bridge dramatically spans the Morača River, connecting the old and new parts of the city. Its single, towering pylon, standing 57 meters high, leans over the water, with twelve powerful cables supporting the roadway below and twenty-four more anchoring it to the counterweights. It quickly became a beloved symbol of the city's progress and forward-looking spirit. More than just a traffic artery, the bridge is a destination in its own right. A walk across its 173-meter length offers breathtaking panoramic views of the turquoise Morača and the rugged canyon it has carved. At night, the entire structure is bathed in a spectacular display of lights, its reflection shimmering on the river's surface, making it a favorite spot for evening strolls and photography. It represents the pulse of a modern European capital, a testament to bold design and engineering.

  • For the best photos, visit at dusk or at night when the bridge is fully illuminated.
  • Walk across the bridge for stunning views of the Morača River Canyon, then view it from the nearby Moscow Bridge for a different perspective.
